Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the IPCAT conference series, IPCAT 2015 aims to bring together researchers from the biological, physical, computational and mathematical sciences who have a common interest in the nature of biological information processing. We welcome both those who are interested in understanding biological systems and those who are interested in applying biological principles within artificial systems. This year's conference will take place in the biomedical hub city of San Diego, California.

Among the most fundamental questions in the Life Sciences are how biological systems are formed from the interaction of genes and how evolutionary forces shape the adaptation of living organisms to different environments. The goal of the NYUAD Genomics and Systems Biology V symposium is to better understand these interactions. The investigators' approach is to apply cutting-edge genomic technologies to areas such as biodiversity, bioenergy, the complexity of neuronal systems, and chemical and functional genomics.

Date: February 17-19, 2015
Time 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location NYUAD Saadiyat Campus, Conference Center

Convened by
Michael Purugganan Dorothy Schiff Professor of Genomics and Dean for Science, NYUAD
Kris Gunsalus Associate Professor ; Director of Bioinformatics, NYUAD
Claude Desplan Silver Professor, Professor of Biology, NYUAD
Kourosh Salehi-Ashtiani Associate Professor of Biology, NYUAD

GEN Presents An Educational And Informative Webinar

The Next Generation of Pathway Analysis for Integrated Omics Data

Diseases can be thought of as the result of systems perturbations that occur when normal biological signaling is disrupted. Various “omics” technologies have added to understanding the mechanisms underlying these disruptions. But interpretation of these findings in a functional context remains challenging as multiple laboratories have developed analytical tools focused on specific needs rather than global integration of omics information.

MetaCore™ addresses the issue of contextual biology across a wide range of disciplines by providing an integrated software suite for functional analysis of next-gen sequencing, variant, CNV, microarray, metabolic, SAGE, proteomics, siRNA, microRNA, and screening data. Developed by Thomson Reuters and based on a high-quality, manually curated database of transcription factors, receptors, ligands, kinases, drugs, and endogenous metabolites as well as other molecular classes, MetaCore captures high-quality experimental evidence from peer-reviewed literature.

In this webinar presenters will discuss how through curating interactions, omics-disease relationships, and constructing canonical pathways from omics experiments, high dimensional data can be placed into a systems biology context. Current enhancements and modifications to MetaCore, as well as case studies will also be presented.

 | تاریخ ارسال: ۱۳۹۳/۴/۱۴ |

The 2nd International SystemsX.ch Conference on Systems Biology will bring together world-class scientists from a variety of disciplines who apply quantitative and systems-wide approaches to the life sciences from October 20-23, 2014 in Lausanne.

The conference will focus on five distinct topics in current systems biology research, including sessions on quantitative cell and developmental biology, functional genomics and gene regulation, systems genetics and medicine, theoretical and biophysical modeling, and quantitative single-cell approaches. As a whole, the program reflects the current state-of-the-art in the now maturing field of systems biology research, highlighting quantitative approaches at multiple scales, from single molecules and cells to whole tissues and organisms.
